If you thought that Ted Kennedy and John McCain simply wanted to give Amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens... then you haven't heard -- as Paul Harvey would say -- "the rest of the story."

According to a report by WorldNetDaily.com, this amnesty bill ALSO legitimizes the eventual formation of a North American Union -- and with it the construction of a "North American Superhighway" -- a plan that until now, our elected officials told us was an urban legend... a myth... a fairy tale.

WorldNetDaily.com claims its right there in black-and-white:

"WASHINGTON -- The controversial 'Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007,' which would grant millions of illegal aliens the right to stay in the U.S. under certain conditions, contains provisions for the acceleration of the Security and Prosperity Partnership, a plan for North American economic and defense integration, WND has learned."

"The bill, as worked out by Senate and White House negotiators, cites the SPP agreement signed by President Bush and his counterparts in Mexico and Canada March 23, 2005 -- an agreement that has been criticized as a blueprint for building a European Union-style merger of the three countries of North America."

"'It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico, which will lead to reduced migration,' the draft legislation states on page 211 on the version time-stamped May 18, 2007 11:58 p.m."

So, it would appear that Democrats and Republicans -- have come up with a final solution to the millions of illegal aliens who are in this country.

Forget about sealing the border.

Instead, effectively merge the United States, Mexico and Canada and build a Superhighway ABOUT FOUR FOOTBALL FIELDS WIDE, running from Mexico through the U.S. heartland and into Canada.

Pave the way for an invasion of 18-wheel trucks coming from Mexico -- carrying God knows what -- with no checkpoint at the border.

That's the secret solution to the problem of illegal immigration! Facilitate it!  Love it!  Make money on it! 

When conservative congressmen asked the Department of Transportation about the scheme to build this Superhighway, Jeffrey N. Shane, Undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation, testified that before Congress that it was "an urban legend"  -- i.e., a lie! 

Of this denial, Rep. Ted Poe of Texas said:  "Mr. Shane was either blissfully ignorant or he may have been less than candid with the committee."

Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) knows its not an urban legend. He proposed a resolution, designed "to block a NAFTA Superhighway System and to indicate the opposition of the Congress to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America that was declared by President Bush, Mexico's then-President Vicente Fox, and Canada's then-Prime Minister Paul Martin at the conclusion of their summit meeting in Waco, Texas on March 23, 2005."

And now, this Amnesty bill actually calls for the United States to "accelerate the implementation" of what we were told, until now, was an urban legend!

What's going on here?

Jihadist feet washing just the beginning

White guilt is a simple concept whose time has come and gone.  Typically felt by people on the left who are of European decent – they feel guilty about things that their ancestors did (or did not) do to blacks or Indians.  That guilt has pretty much been tapped since times are good for the vast majority of blacks and Indians so the left had to find a way to feel bad about a group of people. 

This time they found a doozy.  Who better to feel guilty for than for a group of people that produced 19 men capable of killing 3,000 people and bringing down American landmarks?  Once again they can overcompensate for alleged wrongs – this time for Muslims.  It doesn’t matter if people are Muslim by birth, choice or force because they were held captive by a government or a machine gun or knife toting masked man on a video tape.  The left and by definition bureaucrats all over American can now feel guilty and overcompensate for Muslim guilt in ways that no other group would ever dreamed.

Overcompensation for white guilt was pretty drab and easy: redistribute wealth, allow unqualified people to be promoted based on race and allow affirmative action programs in everything from college selection to government contracts.  It is so much better with Islam because now there is stuff they can do that they never could under white guilt.

Muslims have the benefit of forcing the left to throw out many of their previously held beliefs.  It is especially true with the supposed wall of separation between church and state that liberals trot out every time Christmas rolls around or when Jews defend themselves against Arabs in Israel.

It seems that because some Muslims feel bad that they are looked at suspiciously when they’re praying at airports and collecting items before a flight that could be used as weapons that Americans should feel enormous guilt for them.  Add to that fact that a few were mistakenly rounded up after 3,000 people were killed by Muslims who practiced their faith on airplanes on September 11, 2001 and all bets are off when it comes to that previously adored separation.

Recently public schools and airports (forgive the irony) decided to install feet washing devices so that Muslims in airports, cab drivers who service them and Muslims at public colleges can wash their feet before they pray.

The left is embracing the idea and there has been no outcry about spending public money on what is clearly a private religious ritual, but you can’t blame people on the right for being confused about public money being spent to give one faith facilities that no other groups are being given.

I suppose if the September 11th hijackers were Jewish the ACLU and groups of terrorists from CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations) would jump to the front of the line to install Mikvahs in public buildings across the country – oh wait – they would do no such thing because these same groups become apoplectic at the site of a Menorah or Nativity Scene at Chanukah or Christmas. 

So what is it about Islam that allows the left to ignore the fact that the government sponsoring Islamic rituals is far more offensive to the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause than a little town putting up a Christmas tree?

Muslim-guilt.

It was bound to happen because every mention of the word Muslim or Islam that comes from a politician or bureaucrat is followed or prefaced by the obligatory phraseology about Islam being a religion of peace and that the vast majority of Islamic people want to live in peace with the west.  Of course there is no data to support this and the fact that the United States has a favorability rating of about 8% in the Muslim world the math proves the premise wrong. 

And who can forget the number of people in the Arab world who are willing to stand in line to chop the head off a Jew or blow up a bus – taught to them at the tender age of six courtesy of Arab government television and the use of a badly dressed knock off of Mickey Mouse (Palestinian television is paid for using the money supplied by Western governments and the United States).

Minnesota has allowed publicly funded colleges to add the same foot washing devices that are being used in Kansas City for cab drivers to pray at the airport.  It begs the question about how the ACLU, the left, the separation of church and state lunatics and Muslim groups would react if Jewish Mikvahs or fonts of holy water blessed by the Pope were installed instead of or before the Muslim feet washing equipment.

It is probably not a stretch to say that the reaction would not have been friendly. 

The ACLU fought for decades for a cross to be removed from a war memorial on public land in San Diego and for crosses to be taken off of county seals in Los Angeles.  CAIR gets bent out of shape every time a Muslim is portrayed on television as a terrorist – what happened to doing anything in the name of art – forget that most terrorists today are Arab.

Americans need not feel Muslim guilt any more than they felt white guilt over the decades, but the left loves guilt and victimization.  The government should not pay for Muslims to wash their feet nor should it pay to have children baptized or for a Jewish couple to hold a bris for their son.

Editorial pages around the country have written about the fact that there is no harm in having feet washing stations for Muslims, but these are the same slippery slope loving folks who think a cross on a county seal is the beginning of a Christian rebellion.  The whole dynamic would change if it were Christians getting special treatment or if Jews were getting special places set aside in public spaces.

Now that the door has been opened to government sponsorship of Islam I would like to have a Mikvah installed at any airport I may be at and demand my Catholic friends get a font of holy water blessed by the Pope. 

There is a real slippery slope here and it begins with tax dollars going to a group of people who share an ideology with people who want to have the flag of Islam flying over the White House.

It is bad enough that it is flying over airports and a few public colleges – where else do you want it?

Elevating Islam because so many politicians are afraid of it above every other religion and using tax dollars to subsidize the practice of it is just as wrong and unconstitutional as taking away my gun.  The only difference is that while we overcompensated for white guilt over the years the worst thing to happen was bad government programs.

Overcompensating with Islam and having it practiced in airports and college campuses at public expense gives the Jihadist exactly what they want – America as an Islamic state.  That – to be sure – is something to fear; much more than a Nativity Scene or Menorah at Christmas or Chanukah.

Well, here is the thanks we get. Eight years ago, America opened its arms to tens of thousands of ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo. The first planeload landed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Military leaders worked day and night to turn the base into a child-friendly village. They coordinated medical and security checkups, mental health and trauma counseling and ethnic food preparations.

Soldiers from Fort Bragg traveled up from North Carolina to assist in refugee operations at Fort Dix. Then-U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Mitchell M. Zais also assembled a team of about 80 soldiers from the U.S. Army Reserve Command in Atlanta. The New Jersey National Guard and American Red Cross teamed up to coordinate charity relief. The military also supported the relief effort's interagency task force, headed by the Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition to food and shelter, we provided translators, welfare consultants and Muslim chaplains. The base constructed prayer rooms and handed out Muslim "sensitivity" cards to the troops. Said Gen. Zais: "We want to welcome these people to America the way we might wish our grandparents and great-grandparents had been welcomed to Ellis Island."

Fast-forward from 1999 to yesterday's headline news: "Fort Dix Plot Aimed At Soldiers; Authorities Say 6 Islamic Militants Arrested, Were Plotting Attack At N.J. Base." Three of the alleged plotters were illegal alien brothers from the former Yugoslavia. Another was a legal permanent resident from the former Yugoslavia. Another hailed from Jordan, and the sixth was a naturalized American citizen originally from Turkey.

According to the criminal complaint against Dritan Duka, one of the illegal alien brothers accused of knowingly and willfully conspiring with the jihadi gang to kill U.S. soldiers, the plotters have schemed for more than a year to murder our troops. They scoped out Dover Air Force Base and Fort Monmouth, as well as the port of Philadelphia, before settling on Fort Dix. One of the participants used to deliver pizza to the base -- used to supply food to our men and women in uniform giving him business -- and knew the military facility "like the palm of his hand."

You think all our hospitality and charity bred good will in these young men -- all in their 20s and enjoying the fruits of the American Dream? Forget about it. The criminal complaint describes the plotters, along with a confidential informant, gathering at a rental house to train with Mujahadin video games:

"Members of the group pointed out that United States military vehicles were shown being destroyed in various attacks. [Illegal alien] Shain Duka pointed out that a United States Marine's arm had been blown off, at which point laughter erupted from the group."

Just hard-working, "undocumented citizens" plotting the plots and laughing at the anti-American atrocities ordinary Americans wouldn't laugh at, yeah? If they had only laid low a few extra months, they might have gotten that illegal alien amnesty President Bush and Congress are so eager to hand out.

According to the criminal complaint, they laughed at our troops getting maimed and killed. They soaked up Osama bin Laden's evil rants. They studied the 9/11 hijackers' last wills and testaments. They contemplated infiltrating our armed forces to frag soldiers from the inside. They relished the thought of spilling American blood on American soil. Is yours boiling yet?

"My intent is to hit a heavy concentration of soldiers," Jordanian-born naturalized U.S. citizen Mohamad Shnewer is quoted telling the plotters. "You hit four, five, six humvees and light the whole place [up] and retreat completely without any losses."

Eight years ago, at the Clinton administration's behest, this nation welcomed refugees escaping a genocidal regime whose military spread fear and brutalized its people. Eight years later, we have a homegrown jihad plot targeting a base that symbolizes the best, the brightest and the most compassionate our military has to offer.

And what is the Muslim community doing to condemn the accused traitors in our midst? Carping about the government's actions to stop jihad in its tracks:

"If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law," said Muslim lawyer Sohail Mohammed. "But when the government says 'Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous.'"

The thanks we get, huh?

The speech Bush should give tomorrow

BUSH:  Normally, I start these things out by saying “My Fellow Americans…”   Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don’t know who more than  half of you are anymore.  I do know something terrible has happened, and that you’re really not fellow Americans any longer.  I’ll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: there’s been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.   The reason I’m quitting is simple. I’m fed up with you people.   I'm fed up because you have  no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what’s  going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are  too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.    

Let's start local. You’ve been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that’s despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we’re mentioning minorities, I’ll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration.  

I’ve mentioned all those things before, but it doesn’t  seem to have sunk in.  Despite the shock to our  economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile,  all you can do is whine about gas prices.  

 We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this ˜blood for oil” thing. If I was trading blood for oil I would’ve already seized Iraq’s oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don’t give me  this ‘Bush Lied People Died’ crap either. If I was the liar you morons take me for, I could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so  they could be ‘discovered.’ Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ‘Clinton’ established that policy. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?  

You need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.  That’s not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don’t care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That’d be fine, as long as they weren’t also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the  globe.  You should be grateful that they haven’t gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you’re not. That’s because you’ve got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that.  

When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I’m disappointed how many of you people think a long and  difficult fight amounts to a single season of ‘Survivor’.  Instead, you’ve grown impatient. You’re incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.   Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat’s  political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing. 

In this day and age, it’s easy enough to find the truth. It’s all over the Internet. It just isn’t on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were,  I doubt you’d be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.  I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you’re too stupid to leave a city that’s below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I’ve come to the conclusion that it would sail right over your heads. 

So I quit. I’m going back to Crawford. I’ve got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I’m done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.  

Oh, and by the way, Cheney’s  quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there’re just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn  this thing around in 2008.   So that’s it. God bless what’s left of America.   Some of you know what I mean. 

CAIR Cheers "Thought Crime" Bill Passage

Of course, we already have thought crime in America. When public figures and media talking heads (you know who I'm talking about -- almost everybody, Left and Right) relentlessly purvey polite fictions about Islam as a religion of peace instead of having the courage to challenge the American Muslim community, we have thoughtcrime.

Challenge the American Muslim community? Yes -- to confront the elements of Islam that the jihadists are using to justify violence and formulate positive ways to neutralize their capacity to be used in such a way. In other words, to institute large-scale programs -- transparent, sincere, and verifiable ones -- to teach against the jihad ideology and Islamic supremacism in American schools and mosques. This would actually empower the reformers these people claim to support, since no reform can begin until one is ready to admit that something needs reforming.

But the Matthews and Dobbses and Hannitys and Becks of the world would rather play pretend. They'd rather tell their viewers fantasies and fictions rather than deal with harsh realities, because to do otherwise would be to commit thoughtcrime. CAIR and its ilk have already been quite successful in casting any honest discussion of the elements of Islam that are being used today by the jihadists to justify their actions as "anti-Muslim," "Islamophobic," "bigoted," "hateful," etc. And the fearless free media cowers in terror.

In reality, however, it is not anti-Muslim, "Islamophobic," bigoted or hateful simply to point out what Muhammad taught, according to the earliest Islamic sources, and what the Qur'an says, as interpreted by the mainstream Sunni schools of jurisprudence, and what Islamic law says, and what the record of Islamic history is. How could such a thing be hateful, or loving, for that matter? It is what it is. The fact that almost no major media types will dare to look at this material squarely shows how effective the Orwellian mau-mauing has been. Thoughtcrime is real, and few are willing to commit it.

And now the House of Representatives of the United States of America has joined the cowering crowd, passing a bill that, if it becomes law (as it likely will once a Democratic president is in office in 2009), will make it illegal to discuss the root causes of the problem that threatens to destroy Europe within our lifetimes, forces every Israeli to leave his home every day not knowing if he will return, and was responsible for the largest mass murder ever on American soil (no, the perp wasn't Cho Seung Hui).

That CAIR loves this bill and has worked for it is no surprise -- it is the same sort of thing as their Flying Imams lawsuit. That one would make Americans too afraid to report a Muslim acting suspiciously in an airport or on a plane, effectively giving jihad terrorists a free hand. This one could make quoting bin Laden and asking peaceful Muslims to stand up against jihad terrorism more effectively in both words and deeds into a crime -- that of "Islamophobia," as the mau-mauers have dubbed it.

It's funny how the noble and glorious words of the Qur'an become "hate speech" when I simply quote them -- it reminds me of a wonderful short story by Jorge Luis Borges about which I'll be writing more soon -- but that is what I do, and that is an accusation I have often received.
